Amos Carter McGrew

That's right, #3 has a name.

Amos Carter McGrew.

Sitting here at 36 weeks pregnant, I just can't believe he is going to be here very soon. We got to see him on an ultrasound today. He is very handsome, head down and surrounded by a lot of fluid.

I actually have over twice the amniotic fluid of the average pregnancy. This leads to a very uncomfortable mama, who aches and has trouble breathing. It is not a concern but could make him come a little early, possibly. (Here's hoping!) Lots of contractions and pressure combined with little sleep has me eagerly anticipating his arrival.

We have been preparing our tiny house for his arrival. We have thrown out and stored and condensed, etc... as much as possible. For now, Amos will be sleeping in a bassinet in our room, and we will hopefully sell our house in early spring. We have been preparing Eden and Sawyer as best we can. Sawyer know baby brothers name, but I am not sure he realizes that another actual baby is coming. Eden is clueless as to what is about to happen in her world!

His name was decided on about a month ago. Amos is obviously a Biblical reference, but it is also an important book of the Bible for Brandon and I because a certain verse played a pivotal role in our relationship. Amos also meets our criteria of being a very masculine name. It is not popular, but not weird. It is a name that sounds good for a NFL quarterback or a stockbroker.

Carter was actually an option as a a first name for Sawyer. It is my mother's maiden name. As with the middle names of all of our children it has a special meaning. It is really in honor of my grandparents, who are amazing and loving and pretty much two of the best people I know.

Here is a post about Sawyer and Eden's name, in case you missed it. :)

We are excited and eager to welcome Amos into our family. Praying for a safe (and quick, haha) delivery and a strong, healthy baby boy!
